Big updates in equipment and what I'm going for .. Bypassing the 24v setup, but still going to use it, and straight to a 48V system. I have 3x EEL DIY boxes with JK 200A Inverter BMS's. One box is listed as 280AH, and the other two are 300AH, for a total of 880AH. Not bad.
All batteries are Gobel EVE LF280K cells.
I'm now using the following components
- 48v 880AH LifePo4 Battery
- Victron 250/100 Charge Controller for the west roof.
- Victron 250/100 Charge Controller for the east roof.
- Victron Lynx Power In to handle charging and inverter access
- Victron 500A Smart Shunt to monitor battery input and output.
All ready charging car about 90% of the time on solar only. 👍
This is a start to pulling my garage off-grid and charging my BOLT EUV, without using the grid.
The set-up I'm trying to emulate is Andy from the Off-Grid Garage and that'll be version 2
Version 1 will be made from hundreds of 18650 Li-ion batteries.
Jehu Garcia on Jag35.com is the one who got me on this trail and his PCB way of creating a battery pack seemed at the time to be the way to go.
I'm currently using the following components
- 12v 165AH battery pack. Will be upgrading to a 24v 160Ah pack soon. Then to a 48v 280Ah pack
- Victron 150/35 MPPT Charge Controller for the west roof.
- Victron 150/35 MPPT Charge Controller for the east roof.
- Victron Lynx Power In to handle charging and inverter access
- Victron 500A Smart Shunt to monitor battery input and output.
